Exchange through AIESEC

Hello

last winter (february 2012) i went to Changsha, China for having exchange experience about 6 weeks, and it's liked i became and International volunteer or AIESEC called it Exchange participant.

but before that, i wanna expalain little bit about the flow/step before i did exchange, and what AIESEC is.

AIESEC Present in over 110 countries and territories, and with over 60,000 members, AIESEC is the world's largest student-run organization. Focused on providing a platform for youth leadership development, AIESEC offers young people the opportunity to be global citizens, to change the world, and to get experience and skills that matter today.

want to know further? just search on http://aiesec.or.id/ (AIESEC in INDONESIA) or http://www.aiesec.org/ (AIESEC globally)

and actually, I am an AIESECer as member via Recruitment on November 2010 through AIESEC UNDIP (Universitas Diponegoro) in Semarang, after i've became OC of PBOX Red ribbon on Alert (Roar) Hiv/Aids, i decide for completing my AIESEC Experience for going exchange, and this one is the promotion tool when i was registered as applicant exchange participant

so, below information was steps when i joined this programme :
1.Get the application form, and fill the form completely

2.collect application form to OC (organizing committe of Exchange fair/ Dept. OGX (Out Going    eXchange, departement that related with exchange things) and attached with

a.TOEFL Score (for toefl score, there is NO required score, just want to know english ability for EP applicant)
b.Curriculum Vitae (in english)
c.Permition Letter (from Parents/your family that responsible with your self)
d.Registration fee (depend on AIESEC in LC related)

3.if only you passed the application form selection, you will participate in FGD (Focus Group Discussion). In this selection, OC will make a group for applicant, the contains depend on situation of how much the applicant that passed selection before. and in that group, you have to solve problem/global issue that up to date Recently. about the technical, it's depend on policy of LC related. but generally, all conducted by english

4.and Congratulation, your step is close for go exchange! it's time for Interview. Yes, because the programme is going abroad, so for sure you will interviewed by english. my suggestion for this steps are :

a. don't feel nervous, Practise makes perfect, so practise your english with your own way :)
b. explore your self before you comin to the room, prepare your best answer about your self
c. Attitude! yes, actually last interview session, OGX invite me as EP returnee for being a Inerviewer, and several of applicant can't keep their attitude, so Keep your attitude, because sometimes first impression is representative who you are.

5.Congratulation, you are EP candidate, so, you will directly go exchange? No.after passed all steps, your name will attached on system (MyAIESEC.net) and you will search on where is your destination country? what project do you want to join? what time?
so, it really flexible. and then after you choose the project, you will get interviewed by AIESECer in your destination country (exp : you want to go to China, and AIESECer in china will interview you by skype), and after both of you deal, You are Match!

6. after all is done, you have to prepare all things liked :
a. Passport (if only you don't have it)
b.Visa (depend on which country)
c.Transportation (Plane)
d.etc (depend on your neccesary)

7.Have an Exchange Experience Guys, be good representative from your country! change the world and open mind, your experience is not complete if only not going abroad :)
